And I took the last train<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I only came back to see my folks<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saw old friends doing what they\u2019ve been told<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having good lives and settle down<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I couldn\u2019t bear the thought, not in this town<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I left this place, but now I\u2019m back<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When she returned, the teacher told the whole class<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About private problems and she sat there embarrassed<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And how we shouldn\u2019t give her a hard time at school<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opposite happened, and everybody knew<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I felt sorry for her and all the tears<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I remember she worked harder then all the other kids did<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I guess she tried everything to get out of this place<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But life left scars on her soul and her pretty face<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m that little girl, just about 3 years old, she said<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that man he is my father but I don\u2019t remember him<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just fragments in black and white<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was barely 4 years old, when he died<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I know you\u2019re only 3 years old<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It hit me straight away. This might be my biggest fear<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it didn\u2019t seem to bother her<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She probably tells this story <\/p>\n\n\n\n

a couple times a week<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has the same eyes as her father<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The kid was only 2, before her memories were made<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now there\u2019s only a smile on a picture in a frame<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and even that smile is the same<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you\u2019re 23<\/p>\n\n\n\n
